Stella Bennett is a multidisciplinary conceptual artist living on Gadigal land. She works within the field of expanded printmaking, using print discourse as a foundation for experimentation with materials. As with the tradition of printmaking, her practice is inherently linked to process; where the finished work is merely one facet of wider conceptual research. This exploration is supported by an underlying interest in writing and communication - how we understand the poetics of visual reality through language as well as imagery. Her practice centres an investigation of ephemeral and spatial aspects of print, and the inexact nature of the copy, presented through precarious installation and interference with light and video projection.
