Georgie Rosenberg works using raw clay in claymation. She constructs short video narratives in which she confuses the didactic meanings attached to Biblical imagery to produce something nonsensical and amoral. The protagonist of the video work is a person, grown from a seed and uprooted, blunderingly engaging with domestic spaces, pottery, entrapment, prayer and threat. The works function as an active midpoint, imbued with humour and feeling, without conclusion. This midpoint is expressed in the medium as the artist reveals the tactile qualities of making and storytelling with clay in video and where fired sculpture is merely incidental to this process.
