Ronan Pirozzi (b. 2001, Newcastle / Australia) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Awabakal Country Newcastle, NSW. Working predominantly in abstraction, Pirozzi constructs large scale oil paintings and sculptures out of metallic surfaces and found objects. Intrinsic and melancholy permeate the experience of his work. Pirozzi transforms the experiences of personal trauma into an enigmatic and poetic visual language that explores scarification as a physical representation of identity. His process is personal, introspective and physical, constructing a unique dialogue between ephemerality and material potential, reality and illusion.
