Grace’s practice is fuelled by a reverence for the everyday and the sacred beauty of ordinariness. A key aspect of her work is its decontextualisation of commonplace social practices and interactions, such as eating, hugging and communicating.

By creating pairings of bespoke furniture and hand-crafted objects with specific functions, Grace creates space for these interactions to play out. Secrets are received by a small box with an ambiguous slit, held by a stand at the height of a mouth. A cracked open, soft-boiled egg is contained within an excavated piece of limestone, sat upon a small wooden table, telling one they could sit down to eat. The support structures dictate the intended physical relationship between the viewer and the constructed object. These supports are rudimentary, constructed of second hand timber with a tenacity and enthusiasm that renounces technical expertise. The act of labor is a manifestation of a genuine desire to venerate familiar experiences.
