Gabrielle Boshier is a multidisciplinary artist from Bathurst, NSW. Her work focuses on the healing, perseverance, and organic nature of the frame, by emphasising the materiality and purity of the canvas as an object. To facilitate this dialogue Boshier investigates why artists chose to break conventions and deviate from established artistic norms. Inspired by artists such as Steven Parrino and Angela de la Cruz, Boshier directs attention towards the materiality and conceptual significance of the frame. Aiming to challenge prevailing notions of art's demise and instead to form a dialogue that emphasises renewal and transformation. Working primarily with calico and timber, her aim is to convey a sense of beauty and resilience, invoking contemplation and offering viewers an opportunity to reflect on the potential for healing and growth.
