Diana’s inquiry started with curiosity: what if feelings are tangible? She often imagines emotions squished and compressed in our bodies, yearning for a representation in the world. Her creative process is a repetition of self-questioning and answering, fighting against the tendency to look away from her feelings. What if her feelings are tangible?

The only way her brain translates emotions is through visuals and tactility. Experimenting across different materials including latex, papers, fabrics and fibres, her work relates one to their own body by being ambiguously visceral. There is a play with tension and slackness in the materials used. This work is intentionally very abject, bringing the attention to how a body is feeling. In thinking that feelings are transient and shifting, this work echoes that quality as a site-specific installation, by connecting the work with existing elements of the site, the form of the work shifts accordingly, attempting to create a relation with the here and now.
