An Albatross is a heavy bird, but the strength of its wings is what allows it to fly so gracefully over turbulent water. It takes strength to take flight, and strength to beat your wings and stay in the air, and it’s scary when you are so high, but eventually you realise that you are made for this. The wind is a friend you can trust to guide you through the night and out of the storm. Harper Baigent is an artist who handmakes tools and materials to create sculptural allegories of her personal experiences. Baigent articulates the narrative of her art practice using the ocean and earth as her muse.
