Anna Jessett is an Australian artist working in the fields of drawing and painting. Her latest pieces explore surreal dreamscapes derivative of her experiences of womanhood along with nostalgia of ‘girl-hood’.
Anna’s pieces aim to convey the overwhelming and disorienting experiences of this time using contorted, hyper-feminine figures set in dreamy domestic environments. Anna’s works are seen by her as physical manifestations of her insecurities and inner thoughts and emotions. ‘Campy’ and Highly glamourised, Anna hopes to create a humorous spin on the inner struggles of womanhood.
