Aislinn Connolly is an emerging artist working in the medium of drawing and painting. She moved to Sydney in 1996 from Ireland and her work is influenced by her cultural background. She is interested in the tactics of the Surrealists and their exploration of subjectivity. Her own work investigates forgotten ideas and cultural remnants, and she uses the framework of contemporary art to undertake research into subjectivity and irrationality. Her paintings are imbued with poetic atmospheres and offer glimpses into strange and enigmatic realms.
